Elizabeth A. Zuzinec, 93, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, March 10th, 2009, at Woodstock Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kenosha. Born in Kiel, Germany, on June 1, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Martha (Voth) Meier and stepdaughter of Ludwig Meier. She came to America in October of 1923, with her family, aboard the USS Roosevelt. On April 22, 1935, she married Ray Alli. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1952. She later married John Zuzinec on January 30, 1960; he passed away March 22, 1982. Elizabeth was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and a volunteer at the Kenosha Senior Center. She was a true servant of God. Surviving are her two children, Betty (Robert) Kriederman of Kenosha and Barbara Jackson of Helena, AL; her grandchildren, Pam Smith, Debbie Fulgham, Dora Carter, Jasin Alli, Kelly Drucks, Jon Kriederman, and Brian Kriederman; her great-grandchildren, Camille Platt, Candace Williams, Daniel Smith, Adam and Jake Fulgham, Steven Carter, Nicholas, Michael, and Matthew Drucks, and Cole and Ethan Kriederman; a special nephew, Jim Komarec; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Alli; a daughter, Irene Caylor; and two grandchildren, Todd Caylor and Jerry Jackson. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and caregivers at Woodstock Nursing Home and Seasons Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 13th, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Mrs. Zuzinec was a fixture in the neighborhood. It won't be the same without her. I don't live in Kenosha now, but grew up near her and frequently saw her in her yard when I returned to visit. She always had something nice to say.
