Ralph A. LUCIANI
Ralph A. "Lucky" Luciani, 63, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, March 8th, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center with his daughters and sister by his side. Born on May 7, 1945, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Ralph and Helen (Cardinali) Luciani. Mostly a lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. Ralph did reside in Phoenix, AZ, from 1994 until 2004 when he returned to Kenosha. He served in the U.S. Marines in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1969. He received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Good Conduct Medal, and the Rifle Expert Badge. He was employed as a manager in the paint department with American Motors/Chrysler, until his retirement in 1994. Ralph enjoyed stopping in at the VFW Post 1865 and also Dairyland Greyhound Park. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, eating Italian food and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Kristin Schalck of Silver Lake and Rachel (Jonah) Hetland of Bristol; a sister, Pat (Tom) Tommet of St. Paul, MN; a brother, Dave (Judi) Luciani of Madison, WI; three grandchildren, Brianna Schalck, Caden Hetland and Ava Hetland; and three nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12th, from the Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum with full military honors. To the family of Ralph Luciani - I was in Florida on vacation when my brother,John, called to tell me about Ralph's passing. We were childhood friends allthe way through high school. I have fond memories of those times I knew Ralph.My sincere sympathy to the entire family.

Rachael, Jonah and Family,Our prayers are with you today as you say farwell to your dad. We didn't know him personally but we do know you and that speaks volumes about what a great person he must have been. So many of our loved ones have moved on ahead of us.
