Annina C. "Anna" Nudo, 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009, at Brookside Care Center. Born on September 20, 1922, in Rose, Prov. of Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Palmino and Rosa (Benvenuto) Capalbo. She came to Kenosha from Italy in 1969 to make her home. In 1946, she married Anselmo Bruno in Italy who passed away three months later. She was then united in marriage to Alfonso Nudo in 1949, in Italy. He preceded her in death in December of 1996. For 25 years she worked at St. Catherine’s Hospital, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Our Lady of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Anna enjoyed cooking, knitting and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Gabriele "Gabe" (Marisa) Nudo of Kenosha; a daughter, Anselmina (Antonio) Garofalo of Toronto, Canada; a sister, Filomena Ruffolo of Toronto, Canada; six grandchildren Loredana (Valentino) Butrico, Marcello (Teresa) Garofalo, Dino (Tina) Garofalo, Alfonso (Nicole) Nudo, Anna (Jason) Clifton, and Anthony (Karyn) Nudo; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law in Italy; and many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Nudo in 1968, one brother and five sisters. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Brookside Care Center and Hospice Alliance for their kind and compassionate care they gave to Anna. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23rd, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
