Donald L. "Swanee" Swanson, 56, of Kenosha passed away suddenly, from natural causes, on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009, in Greenfield, WI. Born on September 14, 1952, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Norman and Ruby (Hoefft) Swanson. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. He was united in marriage to Elisabeth Harris in 1998 in Jamaica. Don retired from Chrysler Corp. in 2000 after 30 years of employment. He was a member of UAW Local 72 and was affiliated with St. Mary’s Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Elisabeth of Kenosha; two step-children, Melissa (Fred) Haug of Kenosha and Sean (Josefina) Harris of Bartlett, IL; a brother, John Swanson of Sugarland, TX; six grandchildren; and his dogs, Buddy, Little Bit and Pepper. A Celebration of Life for Donald will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, at Proko Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private. We were very sad to hear of Swannee's passing.My family has fond memories of him and his friend[Mikey] coming out to the county years ago to visit.My parents, Larry and Karen Young also worked with him.
