Wyndell C. NEWELL
Wyndell C. "Tillie" Newell, 66, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Saturday, December 27th, 2008, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on February 6, 1942, in Watson, AR, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Sibyl (Frost) Williamson. As a teenager, she moved to Zion, IL, where she graduated from Zion Benton High School. On June 13, 1959, she married Bobby F. Newell in Zion, IL. Together they moved to Pleasant Prairie in 1972. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1991. Tillie was employed with A.L. Hansen Mfg. Co. in Waukegan, IL, until the birth of her two sons. After her husband’s death, Tillie selflessly made her family her life helping raise her granddaughter, Ashley, and working side by side with her son, John, nurturing a successful business at Endurance Fitness (formerly Gold’s Gym) in Kenosha, for the past 17 years where she was known as "Mom" to the many people who went there. She was a member of Lakeshore Tabernacle Church and enjoyed spending her free time with her family. Survivors include her two sons, Samuel of Pleasant Prairie and John (Liana) of Kenosha; her two granddaughters, Ashley Lauren Newell and Bobbi Olivia Newell; two brothers, John Wesley Williamson of Zion and Clinon Williamson of Pine Bluff, AR; and two sisters, Wavelene Williamson of Aurora, IL, and Louetta "Van" Williamson of Slidell, LA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Williamson. The family would like to thank Dr. Malik Bandealy and the staff at Oncology Alliance, Dr. Hedy Kindler and the staff at the University of Chicago Medical Center, and the nurses and staff of Hospice Alliance for all the kind and compassionate care they gave to Tillie, and also especially to her sister, Louetta "Van" Williamson, who took care of her since the onset of her illness. The family could not have made it through without her. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31st, at Lakeshore Tabernacle Church, 8900-34th Avenue, Kenosha, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Zion, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Tillie’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Grandma,It's been a year since you left us. There's not a day that passes that I don't think about you. You have missed a lot in my life; my acceptance letter from college, my car. It feels like you are missing and that you should be here to rejoice with me in these moments. It's still hard for me to see Bobbi. She reminds me of you and how much you loved all of us. You were so young and I wish I had more time with you. I never regularly told you how much I love you. Since you left, I still sleep in your bed. I try and keep the house clean, but nobody does it as good as you did. You were such an amazing person and I miss you terribly every day. I love you, Grandma. Things aren't the same without you. I miss you so much.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. She was always smiling when I walked into the gym and greeted me by my first name. A smile goes a long way. She was a wonderful lady. Big hug to you Samuel.

Sam,Sorry to hear about your mom. My goodness, she was so young. Of course, as we all get older, they all seem so much younger. I have many fond memories of both of your parents. God must have wanted them both up there. Take care.Rodney Sigman

Tillie Newell was a great lady. I can so clearly see her lost in the spirit as she danced before the Lord or making tacos for an after church get-together or working in the big old garden she and Bob used to keep. John and Sam, I wish you peace.

I was so very sorry to read of Tillie's untimely death. Many years ago before I moved to Colorado I attended Lakeshore with Bob & Tillie. I can remember many good times with both of them. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time. She & Bob are now together again.
