James Cesario
James Cesario, 93, of Kenosha, passed away Sunday, November 23rd, 2008, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus. Born in Kenosha on January 1, 1915, he was the son of the late Eugene and Josephine (Marini) Cesario. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. During World War II, he served in the United States Army. He entered the service on April 1, 1942, receiving his honorable discharge on October 20, 1945, having achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, receiving the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/1 Silver Battle Star and the Good conduct Medal w/3 overseas service bars with 1 service stripe. On October 9, 1943, he married Virginia Morrone at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. For over 50 years he was Chief Instrument Tester at G. LeBlanc Corp.; after his retirement he continued to work part-time until 2003. James was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Kenosha Musicians Union, and he gave private music lessons in Kenosha for over 30 years. He played clarinet and saxophone for several Big Bands in the 30’s and 40’s, including Ted Weems, Lou Breeze, and Anson Weeks. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Virginia of Kenosha; a son, Robert James (Sandra Kay) Cesario of Rolla, MO; two sisters, Meni Nichols of Maryland and Lucy (Paul) Kurklis of California; two grandchildren, Anthony (Kati) Cesario and Anastasia (Jonathan) Killgore; a great-grandchild, Robyn Anastasia Cesario; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Ganz, and a brother, Albert Cesario. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. My condolences to the Cesario family. I took music lessons from Jimmy for many years. He was a great teacher and friend. Jimmy had a wonderful life and will be fondly remembered.
