Helen R. (Flatley) Hughes Young, 90, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, November 10th, 2008, at her residence. Born in Kenosha on January 2, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William T. and Rose (Cleary) Flatley. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and graduate of Kenosha High School in 1936. On April 13, 1944, she married Robert G. Hughes. She then married Harold F. Young on August 12, 1974. He passed away July 13, 2003. Helen had been a clerk for various clothing stores in Kenosha. She was a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and presently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Surviving are her three children, Daniel (Julie) Hughes of Franklin, WI, Michael (Mary Ann) Hughes of Raymond, WI, and Amber J. Reinke of Pleasant Prairie, WI; step-children, Kathleen Silberstein of New Jersey, Kristine Kondo of Japan, Margaret Fritz of Michigan and Jeffrey Young of New Jersey; a brother, Robert (Oralyn) Flatley of Dallas, TX; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Mary Jane Thomas, William T. Flatley, Jr., Catherine Nielsen, Richard Flatley, Joseph Flatley, Donna Panlener and Frances Ditthardt. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery.
