Mariano Tenuta, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, October 26th, 2008, at his residence, with his family by his side. Born on October 14, 1931, in Marano Principato, Cosenza, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Fortunata (Ruffolo) Tenuta. On March 21, 1959, he married Gemma Aceto in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1972, Mariano moved from Argentina to Cicero, IL, and then came to Kenosha, in 1976, to make his home. After coming to the United States, he worked for Arneson Foundry, in Kenosha, for eight years and Williams Innovative Games, in Gurnee, until his retirement in 1998. Mariano was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He loved gardening and making homemade wine. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gemma; a daughter, Liliana Tenuta of Kenosha; his twin sons, Francisco Antonio (Savaria) Tenuta and Juan Carlos (Giulia) Tenuta, both of Kenosha; a brother, Aldo (Maria) Tenuta of Highland Park, IL; two sisters, Amelia Tiano and Rosina Caldarola, both of Buenos Aires, Argentina; six grandchildren, Pablo, Sergio, and Gabriela Martini, Mariano Tenuta, and Angelica and Isabella Tenuta, all of Kenosha; a nephew, Alex Tenuta of Highland Park; and numerous nieces and nephews in Italy and Argentina. He was preceded in death by three brothers. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 29th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Proko Funeral Home. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
