Pero Matic, 75, of Kenosha, passed away suddenly, Thursday, September 4th, 2008, in Tuzla, Bosnia. Born in Rocevic, Bosnia, on February 26, 1933, he was the son of the late Dusan and Vasilija (Eric) Matic. On February 23, 1956, he married Krsmanija Popadic. On January 14, 1970, he moved to Racine, then Chicago, IL, before coming to Kenosha in 1972 to make his home. He was formerly employed at Chrysler Motors in Kenosha until his retirement. Pero was a member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Racine. He is survived by his wife, Krsmanija of Kenosha; three sons, Dusan (Snezana) Matic of Kenosha, Stevo (Ljiljana) Matic of Kenosha and Zarija (Cheryl) Matic of Franklin, WI; a brother, Vlado (Danica) Matic of Racine; three sisters, Dragica (Krsto) Jovic of Bosnia, Mara Jankovic of Kenosha and Bosa (Milos) Tesic of Bosnia; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 11th, at Proko Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Friday at St. Sava Monastery Serbian Orthodox Cemetery, 32377 N. Dragi nasi Matic porodico i ostala mnogobrojna rodbino i kumovi porodice Matic: Primite iskreno saucesce. Za mene je vas Pero bio "ujak Pero" posto sam se naucila uz Zivku i Dragicu koje su sa ljubavlju, postovanjem, i priznanosti cesto toplim tonom spominjale Ujaka i Ujnu. Nemogu zamisliti koliko sam cesto sa ceznjom mislila o Ujni i uvek pripitivala kako je ona ni neznajuci do pre par dana da se hrabro opet borila sa bolesti. Nisam ni pomislila da pitam za Ujakovo zdravlje jer sam se divila kako Ujak Pero izgleda super i kako lepo igra sa svojim sinom Dusanom (na primer u Maju na Dacinoj svadbi). Tesko se oprostiti sa voljenim osobama i kad boluju a nemoze se zamisliti kako je tesko kad ovako iznenadno. Utjeha ce biti bas to sto je Pokojni Pero uvek bio pun zivota i veselja i preselio se u vecnost bez duge bolesti i patnje. On je tesko radio ali hvala Bogu imao je puno i radosti specijalno sa svojom unucadi. Je neznam da ima vise slikanih dedova od Ujaka Pere. To ce biti deo utehe kad pogledate na mnogobrojne lepe slike koje sjedoce radost i lepe uspomene sa njegovim unucicima, djecom i ostalom mnogobrojnom familijom, kumovima i prijateljima ovde i u Kraju. Pozitvno je utjecao i materialno i duhovno doprineo svojoj familiji i okupio mnoge oko sebe tako da je usjekao brazde sjecanja u dusama mnogih koji ga dozivotno nece zaboraviti...prenoseci price o njegovom legendarnom zivotu na svoje potomstvo. Vjecna mu pamjat. Bog da mu dusu prosti. Vama ozalescena familijo dobro zdravlje i dugo sjecanje na vaseg dragog Peru. My deepest sympathy to all of the family and friends of Mr. Matic, especially his wife. I was shocked and saddened to hear the news. I will always remember what a good neighbor he was and will miss him. My heart goes out to all of you.
