Anne Nichols, 95, of Kenosha, passed away Thursday, July 17th, 2008, at Brookside Care Center with her family by her side. She was born in Kenosha on June 10, 1913, the daughter of the late Wasil and Fedora (Dubowik) Naumowich. Educated in the schools of Kenosha, she graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. In the 1960’s she and her husband moved to Palm Springs, CA, to make their home. Anne returned to Kenosha in 2004 after her husband’s death. On March 8, 1941, she married George Nichols in Iowa. He passed away September 20, 2004. She was a salesperson for Walgreen’s in Racine; then while living in Palm Springs she worked at Louise’s Pantry. Anne enjoyed her rose garden, and loved to entertain, dance and travel. Surviving are a niece, Gereene (Thomas) Callahan of Kenosha; and two nephews, Charles Naumowich of Indiana and James (Terra) Naumowich of Beloit, WI. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Bennie Naumowich; and a sister, Rose Hall. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookside Care Center for the wonderful care they gave their aunt. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
