Catherine Josephine Wright

1951 ∼ 2008

Catherine J. "Cathy" Wright, 56, of Winchester, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 14th, 2008, at Lakeview Specialty Hospital in Waterford, WI. Born on September 13, 1951, in Kenosha, WI, she was the daughter of the late George and Blanche (Cerminara) Volpentesta. She received her education in the schools of Kenosha, and was a 1970 Graduate of Tremper High School. She attended Gateway Technical College and received an Associate Degree as a Court and Conference Reporter. She was employed at Anchor Glass for 23 years, first in Waukegan, IL, then later in Winchester, IN. Cathy's pets were her children. She enjoyed trips to the casino, cooking, baking, and tending to her flower garden, and above all else, her family. She is survived by her two sisters, Carolyn V. (Gerald) Schroeder of Kenosha and Claudia F. Volpentesta of Kenosha; a brother, George A. (Dr. Cynthia Mason) Volpentesta of Menomonee Falls, WI; her fiancé, Jeff Kutzler of Winchester, IN; three nieces, Alexandra, Katie, and Olivia; and a nephew, Michael. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tony. Cathy was a survivor, first being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease at only 19. Cathy received some of the very best care and unfortunately the indifference of others. Hold dear anyone innocent, elderly, or disabled; they are not diminished in any way. If all she could give was her beautiful smile, she did so to comfort others. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment to be private at All Saints Cemetery.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Cathy's Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

When the Volepentesta family moved to Pleasant Prairie, both Cathy and Claudia enrolled at Prairie Lane Elementary. These two perfect Italian girls were instantly the most beautiful girls in the whole school. They always were fun to be around and very special. Being new and beautiful, they upset the whole balance of 7th and 8th grader love on the playground. I loved them both for who they were and the commotion they caused among jealous girls. That is how I remember Cathy. She was a firecracker who loved to laugh and have fun. She always shined in the center of attention, and of course, the smile. Her heartfelt smile was disarming and magnetic. Cathy came from a loving family that was expressed in her manners, grace, and appearance. My sincere prayers and love to Cathy's family. ~Philip Livingston, Curlew, Washington.
