Florence Marie Barker, 78, of Kenosha, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 16th, 2008, at St. Catherine's Medical Center. Born on June 26, 1929, in Rhinelander, WI, she was the daughter of the late Ora Russell and Agnes Nina (Flannery) Skeans. She lived in Kenosha most of her life. On March 23, 1951, she married Audie R. Barker. He passed away June 22, 1996. A member of First Assembly of God, her loves were her great passion for gardening, birds and nature. Surviving are a son, Audie D. (Denice) Barker of Osseo, WI; three daughters, Sherry Barker of Watertown, WI, Rosemarie (Barry) Clair of Kansas City, MO, and Nancy (Charlie) Marshall of Kenosha; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Andersen of Kenosha and Della Petersen of Florida; four brothers, Floyd Skeins of Florida, Robert Skeans of Union Grove, WI, Daniel Skeans of Kenosha, and David Skeans of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynne Creed; a granddaughter, Angela Smith; a brother, Richard Skeans; and two sisters, Alice Fliess and Patsy Rawoens. Florence's greatest legacy was her love for the Lord and the loved ones she left behind. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, at the First Assembly of God at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. We all grew very close to Florence and she will never be forgotten. Our prayers are with the family and friends during this very difficult time.

Our deepest sympathy to the family on the passing of Florence. I am sorry that I won't be able to attend the funeral as I will be out of town on Wednesday. What a legacy she has left for her children and family.Her love for the Lord trusting in Him....
