Howard Louis Pope, 33, born Oct 12, 1974, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 12th. He lived most of his life in Zion, IL. He married Christina Statz in Las Vegas, NV on March 27, 2000. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Christina; his children, Jason Stark, Heather Nicole and Robert Laituri; his granddaughter, Kiara Laituri; his parents, Fred and Gwen Pope; his siblings, James (Wendy) Pope, Rebecca (Wayne) Connelly, Nicola (Stan) Wojick, and Evelyn Pope; as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and an extended family too numerous to mention, which includes his beloved pets. Private services were held at the First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor, on Monday the 16th. A celebration of Howard's life was held immediately after at his home in Bristol. As part of the memorial, a buffet was served in the garage and toasts made around the bonfire; two of Howard's favorite places. As all of his family and friends know, Howard lived his life as a shining example of giving and helping others. He will be deeply missed more than words can possibly express. Countless memories will live on in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
