Elmer L. Davison, 89, of Kenosha, passed away with his family by his side Thursday, May 22nd, 2008, at Brookside Care Center. Born on September 2, 1918, in Kokomo, IN, he was the son of the late Clarence and Luella (Newyear) Davison. In 1923 he came to Kenosha, where he has resided since. He was in the United States Army during World War II. He entered the Army on March 30, 1942, and was honorably discharged on August 29, 1945. He served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater, receiving the Theater Ribbon with1 silver Battle Star, Bronze Service Arrowhead, 5 overseas service bars and 1 service stripe. On October 26, 1946, he married Dolly Campolo at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. For many years he was the owner and operator of Davison's Barbershop. Elmer was a member of the Moose Club, National Council of Senior Citizens and the Senior Action Council. Surviving are his wife, Dolly; a daughter, Marilee (Eugene) Hackbarth of Lambertville, MI; a son, Alan (Mary Rose) Davison of Kenosha; a sister, Lenore Spence of Kenosha; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Davison. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum with full military honors. Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
