Nancy: Sorry to hear about Tom. As you may know, he and I stayed in contact, over the years, even though I am here in Arizona. I actually had a message from him on my answering machine which he put there just a few days before his death. I had not had a chance to return the call because of a house full of guests. I regret my delaying returning the call. Will you ever forget the nights at the Pee Wee golf course. That usually included Tom, Paul, Jim Gaylord and me. Great fun!!!He will be remembered and missed.Best regards, Jim Plowman

As a colleague, Romeo Club member, friend and Cub fan, my thoughts are with Tom's loved ones since he was so proud of his immediate family. This was proven by his sharing of photos, stories and travel reports of family visits. There was always time to discuss the latest Chicago Cubs doings. A message from Spring Training was a must by me just to keep him up to date with the goings on of some of the new prospects. As a colleague he always found time for a request or sharing of a food recipe or thoughts about his garden. He was a Tremper man dedicated to all that he did under the Tremper roof.

Tom was my friend and neighbor for twenty three years. During that time Tom and I spent many nights sitting on his front porch talking about the CUBS and Da Bears. Tom was most proud of his grandchildren and took every opportunity to show off the latest pictures. Tom would say that he didn't want to brag about the grandchildren and I would always counter "Yes, you do", and you could see the joy in his expression. Tom always supplied and roasted the ears of corn for our block parties and was the neighborhood secretary always keeping us updated. He loved to cook on his grill. I will miss him.

Mr. Petterson was one of my teachers when I was a junior and senior at Tremper High School (1994-95 and 1995-96). He once made me a student of the month for my work ethic and my willingness to listen and take criticism. He cared about the success of his students. He had a great sense of humor as well. He will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

My heart goes out to my cousins, Sheryl and Carla, and my mom on the passing of their father and brother. Uncle Tom always took the time to remember me and my sons, his grandnephews Neil and Ian, with cards and emails throughout the years. He always had a playful jab at my husband Gary regarding their Packers vs. Bears rivalry. Whenever we visited Kenosha, I always enjoyed our visits and talks. I can see him sitting in the living room right now. Uncle Tom was a "good guy" who truly loved his family, especially his daughters, grandchildren, sister, and parents. I know he is with his parents now, Grandma and Grandpa Petterson, and the three of them are reunited and will be angels watching over all of us. I think the picture on this site is perfect. He always had that smile on his face and that is how I will remember him.
