Beulah L. Sorensen, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 29th, 2008, at Grande Prairie Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Eastman, WI, on February 24, 1918, she later moved to Waukegan, IL with her family. She met Bill Sorensen, going to dances at Pavilions on the Chain of Lakes when Wally Sorensen's Band was playing. She saw her sweetheart off to war and volunteered with the USO until his return. Bill and Beulah were married on November 5, 1945 at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan, IL. A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan, IL, Beulah had a confident faith in God and a contagious optimism. She created a loving home for her family, seeing to everyone's needs before her own. She will be conspicuous in her absence to her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, William of Kenosha; three sons, Robert (Joan) Sorensen of Kenosha, Don (Paulette) Sorensen of Sheboygan, WI, and Michael (Margo) Sorensen of Highland Park, IL; her four grandchildren, Robert Jr., Bryan, Laura and Mike; and a sister, Dolores (Matt) Senica of Florida. The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadowmere Assisted Living, Grand Prairie Rehabilitation Center and Hospice Alliance for all of their kindness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL, at 12:45 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Women and Children's Horizon or Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit Beulah's Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I work at Meadowmere and having met Beulah was a blessing. She was always making us laugh and telling us how beautiful we all were. I'll always remember when she told me I was her special angel. I know she is smiling down at all of us. God bless you and your family. Sincerely, Sarah Swartz

Your family will be in my prayers. I used to work at Sheridan Medical Complex as the Activity Director. I remember your mother every time she came to visit Bill, she would always smile. She always took the time to talk to me and give me a hug. I remember the one family Christmas party when Bill and I had our dance the tears in Beulah's eyes and the smile on her face and the grandchildren faces told me that I had brought back some special memories for the family. Beulah is at peace now and she will always be in our hearts Barbara Kautenburg (Brau)
