Paul William Besch, Sr., 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31st, 2008, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. Born in Kenosha on July 21, 1923, he was the son of the late William Carl and Nora Mae (Corbett) Besch. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended local schools. He enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Greenland and Monterey, CA. On January 11, 1947, he married the girl next door, Dorothy Cicchini. They recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. In 1946 he began working as an apprentice painter for Potente Decorating Company. After 40 years he retired as a journeyman painter and ecclesiastic decorator, having worked in many churches in Kenosha and around the country. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Junker Ball Post #1865, senior member of the International Union of Painters, and Allied Trades, Painters Local #934. Paul was an avid deer and pheasant hunter, and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of Kenosha; three sons, Paul Besch, Jr. of Elk Grove Village, IL, Tim (Donna Sandberg) Besch of Kenosha, and Bill Besch of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Christopher, Tina and Stephen; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine Cicchini, Lucille Cicchini and Madeline Cardinali, all of Kenosha; and also by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Minson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 4th, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
