Robert G. OGLESBY, SR.

1947 ∼ 2008

Robert G. Oglesby Sr., 60, of Kenosha, passed away, Friday, February 15th, 2008, at St. Catherine's Medical Center. Born in Kenosha June 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Merle G. and Laverne I. (Knapp) Oglesby. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools, graduating from St. Joseph's High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army, inducted on August 9, 1966. He served until his honorable discharge July 20, 1968. On December 20, 1966, he married Kathy A. Ostlund at St. Mary Catholic Church. For 42 years he was employed at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts (formerly Gordon Auto Parts) and since 1998 he was the manager. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, was a member of Midwest Street Machine Association, and was a very active member of the Automotive Technicians of Southeastern Wisconsin. Bob was very proud of his "31" Chevy Sedan, which he enjoyed spending time working on with his son. He loved being with his grandchildren and enjoyed trips Up North and his annual trip to Las Vegas to the Car Show. He was one of the founding fathers of the Kenosha Area Soccer League. Surviving are his wife, Kathy of Kenosha; two sons, Robert (Tiffany) Oglesby of Kenosha and Christopher Oglesby of Oshkosh, WI; a daughter, Carla Oglesby of Kenosha; a sister, Judy Oglesby of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Katie, Ashley, Katie, Bobby, Jakob and Haley Oglesby, Ryan Schneider, and Frankie Stumpf; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy and a nephew, David Matrisch. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 19th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors.
