Norma C. Torcaso, 79, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, February 9th, 2008, at Kenosha Hospital & Medical Center. Born on May 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Bilotti) Pulera. She was a lifetime resident of Kenosha and received her education in local schools. On May 15, 1954, she married Joseph J. Torcaso at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2007. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Italian American Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her two sons, Steve (Marie) Torcaso and Ray (Tina) Torcaso, both of Kenosha; a daughter, Paula (Dave) Spizzirri, of Kenosha; a brother, Ronald (Marylou) Pulera of Grand Blanc, MI; a sister, Roberta (Lester) Perugini of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Rita, Anthony, and Joseph; and special sister-in-law, Betty Pulera. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Pulera. Due to an illness, our mother spent the last 18 years of her life confined to a wheelchair, but she had a wonderful quality of life, surrounded daily by her family, friends, and excellent care-givers. We want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to some of her wonderful care-givers, especially Marion, Tina, Kathy, Maryann, and Olga. We also want to thank her therapist and friends, Bonnie and Joyce. You are free now Mom, to walk again with dad, because we know you don't need wheelchairs in Heaven. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 14th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Both of your parents were an inspiration to me as I had the privilege to take care of your mother years ago. When your dad came walking in it was all laughs and jokes as he spread his cheer all around the room. Your dear mother and I had a blast decorating the house for Christmas with her in the wheelchair and me joyfully following her direction. Many times we got the giggles and had to stop! She was a real credit to womanhood. How blessed you are to be their children and carry on their traditions of great hospitality, generosity and a deep spiritual life.God Bless.Sincerely,Kim C Muir

Dear Steve,I'm so sorry to hear of the death of your mother. The loss of both of your parents is so profound that it's hard to find the right words. So I thought of this verse that somehow seems appropriate.Like a birdSinging in the rain,Let grateful memoriesSurvive in time of sorrow.—Robert Louis StevensonTake care, Steve.Mike Serpe6674 Hidden DriveEgg Harbor, WI 54209
