Reno John CONTI
Reno John Conti, 86, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, February 5th, 2008, at Brookside Care Center with his family by his side. Born April 9, 1921, in the town of Montepradone, Province of L' Marche, Italy, he was the son of the late Natali and Dominica Maria (Pezzoli) Conti. He came to Kenosha from Italy with his mother when he was seven to join his father. He was educated in local schools. During World War II he served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. He was stationed in Alaska, where he worked on the Alaskan Railway. On September 28, 1946, he married Gilda Tenuta at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He retired as Captain for the Kenosha Fire Dept. where he served from March of 1952 until May of 1984. Reno was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Holy Name Society of Holy Rosary, Roma Lodge, Retired Fireman's Association and The Moose Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and making whirly-gig birds and wooden windmills for the yard. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Gilda of Kenosha; three sons, Dennis R. (Claudia) Conti of Kenosha, John (Nicki) Conti of Glendale, CA, and Dante J. (Lisa) Conti of Ft. Collins, CO; a brother, Joseph (Marie) Conti of Racine; two sisters, Yolanda Paul of Salem and Nancy (William) Lawrence of Ft. Atkinson, WI; five grandchildren, Matthew, Richard, Dennis John, Marco, and Dante Michael. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dante Julius. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum with full military honors. Dear Auntie Gilda, I just would like you to know you and your family are in my thoughts and my many prayers I say. I'm so glad that I had that moment with you and Uncle at Xmas. He was my favorite partner to enjoy a glass of wine with. I have your pictures on my refrigerator you sent me when you had your 60th.anniversary. You and Uncle have been very good to me and my family threw the years of all of us growing up they are memories I cherish every day of my life and always will.
