Shirley Mae SPENCER
Shirley Mae Spencer, 73, formerly of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Bryant, WI, late of Bristol, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 23rd, 2007, at her daughter’s residence after a short battle with ALS. Born on August 9th, 1934, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Hans and Lila (Count) Hanson. She previously resided in Pleasant Prairie, and she retired in the Antigo area, Bryant, WI. On August 9, 1952, she married Boone B. Spencer. He passed away on January 22, 2006. Shirley loved to travel, camping, bowling, reading, sewing and crocheting. She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis (Gary) Mutchler of Bristol and Brenda (David) Stewart of Meeker, CO; two sons, Brian Spencer of Pleasant Prairie and Daniel (Jodie) Spencer of Tucson, AZ; four sisters, Vivian DeBruin, Betty Weaver, Roberta Uphill, Dorothy Thomas; four brothers, Ray Hanson, Vernon Hansen, Jerald (Betty) Hanson, Ralph Jones; and nine grandchildren, Lisa and Greg Mutchler, Jennifer Seymour, Raven, Jonathan, Sabrina, Brittany, James, and Brandon Spencer. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Richard and Ted Hanson, and her grandson, Keith R. Spencer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29th, at Proko Funeral Home at 4:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. She was a wonderful aunt and a Beautiful person, she told me once that we were alike, and I considered that to be the highest compliment. I remember Aunt Shirley well, and our family will miss her much. I have fond memories of visiting her as a child and teen for weddings and other occasions. I enjoyed seeing her and Uncle Boone at my grandmother, Vivian's 90th birthday party a few years ago. Our whole family is saddened at her passing.We wish to send our love and condolences to her children Phyllis, Brenda, Brian and Daniel.
