Shirley Mae Spencer, 73, formerly of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Bryant, WI, late of Bristol, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 23rd, 2007, at her daughter’s residence after a short battle with ALS. Born on August 9th, 1934, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Hans and Lila (Count) Hanson. She previously resided in Pleasant Prairie, and she retired in the Antigo area, Bryant, WI. On August 9, 1952, she married Boone B. Spencer. He passed away on January 22, 2006. Shirley loved to travel, camping, bowling, reading, sewing and crocheting. She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis (Gary) Mutchler of Bristol and Brenda (David) Stewart of Meeker, CO; two sons, Brian Spencer of Pleasant Prairie and Daniel (Jodie) Spencer of Tucson, AZ; four sisters, Vivian DeBruin, Betty Weaver, Roberta Uphill, Dorothy Thomas; four brothers, Ray Hanson, Vernon Hansen, Jerald (Betty) Hanson, Ralph Jones; and nine grandchildren, Lisa and Greg Mutchler, Jennifer Seymour, Raven, Jonathan, Sabrina, Brittany, James, and Brandon Spencer. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Richard and Ted Hanson, and her grandson, Keith R. Spencer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29th, at Proko Funeral Home at 4:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
