Frank John PICKOS
Frank J. Pickos, 92, of Kenosha, passed away Thursday, October 4th, 2007, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI. Born August 18, 1915, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Anthony and Catherine (Pienkos) Pickos. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. On August 27, 1938, he married Gertrude M. Mollman in Kenosha. Frank was in the United States Army during World War II with the #595th Ambulance Corp. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He had been employed by Coopers, the American Brass, and American Motors where he retired in 1976. Frank enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, shooting pool and ballroom dancing. He was a member of UAW Local 72, Kenosha/Racine Pigeon Club, and since he was a child he enjoyed pigeon racing. He also belonged to the Eagles Club and was a former member of the Moose Club. Surviving Frank are his wife of 69 years, Gertrude; two daughters, Barbara Saftig of Kenosha and Linda (James) Clouse of Somers; a brother, Don Pickos of Florida; a sister, Helen (Walter) Willems of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Laura Jahnke and Stacy Saftig; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Frank Jahnke and Jakob Markus Jahnke. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wally, Kayo, Eddie and Joe Pickos. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 9th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. Gert, Barb, & Linda,I am so sorry to see dear Frank has passed. I can still see him out feeding King (and other dogs you had after), and feeding and caring for the pigeons...running outside looking for the first birds to show up coming in from a race! Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
