1927 ∼ 2007

Joseph J. TORCASO
Joseph J. Torcaso, 79, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, June 22nd, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in Kenosha on November 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Raymond and Rose (Germinaro) Torcaso. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School. In 1937, at the age of 9, he started learning the shoe repair trade from his father, where, for the next 70 years, he enjoyed the daily interactions of his customers. On May 15, 1954, he married the love of his life, Norma Pulera, at Holy Rosary Church. Joe served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1948 until 1954. In his younger years, he played baseball, golf, and handball. He was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Green Bay Packers. Joe was an avid reader and loved to work crossword puzzles. His quick wit and keen sense of humor was a catalyst for his gag writing hobby. His gags were published in Saturday Evening Post, Life, Readers Digest, Look, and many other magazines. He is survived by his wife, Norma; three children, Steve (Marie) Torcaso, Ray (Tina) Torcaso and Paula (Dave) Spizzirri; and his three loving grandchildren, Rita, Anthony and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Josephine Huber and Theresa Cortese. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 26th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:00 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533www.prokofuneralhome.com

My dad and I are so very sorry for your loss. He still talks about the parties Joe invited him to. Thanks to Joe's handiwork, I still have many pairs of shoes that I would have had to toss away! My prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. May God Bless.
