Anna Marie RUSCH

1913 ∼ 2007

Anna Marie Rusch, 93, of Kenosha, entered eternal life March 5, 2007, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints Campus, Racine. She was born in Austria, Germany, on April 2, 1913, to the late Adolph and Bertha Hackenberg. She came to the United States at the age of 7; graduated St. George Catholic School on June 16, 1929, and achieved citizenship in the United States on November 25, 1941. On July 6, 1935, she married Carl A. Rusch and enjoyed 52 years of wonderful marriage, before his death on October 8, 1987. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Anna worked at Coopers, now Jockey International, and Dr. Lane's Medical Office in Kenosha. She was a mentor to her grandchildren and enjoyed the opportunity to see her first two great-grandchildren born and have the opportunity to enjoy over three years with them. Anna took active participation in her grandsons business, A Secret Treasure, LLC, a founding pioneer, to keep active and have a good time, an activity that kept her young at heart. She enjoyed sewing and patchwork quilting. Anna was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church for over 50 years, former member of Christian Mothers at St. George Catholic Church and spent countless hours with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna is survived by her daughters, Marion (William) Vareck of Kenosha, and Catherine (Rudolph) Ropp of Kenosha; grandchildren, David Vareck, FM, CPFM, CSEP, CEH, of Kenosha, Kelly Vareck, RN, of Racine, Darrin (Justine) Ropp of Madison, and Kenneth Ropp of Kenosha; great-granddaughters, Madison Mae, of Racine, and Emma Priscilla, of Madison; sister, Emma Danner of Kenosha; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A.; a son, PFC First Class Carl E.; and a brother, Joseph Hackenberg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 9th, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4804-7th Avenue, Kenosha, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. In observance of Lent, please omit flowers.
