Charles Roy HAWKINS, SR.

Charles R. Hawkins, Sr., 59, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, February 14th, 2007, at St. Catherine's Medical Complex. Born in Illinois on December 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Shirley (Sheivley) Hawkins. He moved from Indiana to Paris, WI, as a teenager and lived with his aunt and uncle Faye & Donis Watts. He was in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War from April 12, 1966, until his honorable discharge on April 11, 1968. On December 24, 1976, he married Barbara Baumeister in Illinois. They later divorced. He worked as a Clerk at U.S. Oil located at I-94 and Highway C. He loved his grandchildren; they were the light of his life and his reason to live. He worked very hard to help his family. Surviving are his three children, Charles R. Hawkins, Jr. of Kenosha, Lisa M. (P.J. Langhof) Hawkins of Kenosha and Joseph C. Hawkins of Bristol, WI; six brothers, Lowell, William, Roy, Robert, Aaron, and Richard, all of Indiana; a sister, Carole Estes of Chicago, IL; and his three grandchildren, Jordan, McKenna and Payton Langhof. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Stedman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17th, at the Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Bristol-Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
