Attilio J. CICCHINI
Attilio J. "Tim" Cicchini, 75, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, March 12th, 2007 at his residence. Born in Kenosha on August 9, 1931, he was the son of the late James and Julia (Ryan) Cicchini. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools. He served in the United States Army from February 12, 1952, until his honorable discharge January 23, 1954. He received the Army of Occupation Medal and the National Defense Medal. On October 30, 1954, he married Jean E. DeRango at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Laborers Local #237, Italian American Club, and the Italian Business and Professional Association. He worked in the family business, Economy Coal Co., and Simmons Co. After serving in the Army, he was employed by MAC Construction Co. for 31 years. He then owned and operated Kenosha Paving and Construction and was on the Board of Directors of Cicchini Asphalt & Paving. Tim was one of the founders of Dairyland Greyhound Track. He is survived by his wife, Jean of Kenosha; three children, Karen (Dave) Knack of Kansas City, MO, Gail McDermott of Kenosha, and Jim (Amy) Cicchini of Kenosha; four sisters, Dorothy (Paul) Besch, Lucille Cicchini, Lorraine Cicchini and Madeline Cardinalli, all of Kenosha; and six grandchildren, Theresa, Angela and Rachel Cicchini, Daniel and Jenna McDermott, and Kelly Knack of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Presta, and two brothers, Louis and Herman Cicchini. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:15 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
