Almond DeCelle Barr, 92, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, January 29th, 2007, at Beverly Living Center. Born on August 5, 1914, in Akron, IA, he was the son of the late Grant and Laura (Gelinas) Barr. He attended the public schools of Akron, coming to Kenosha in 1937 to make his home. On March 4, 1939, he married Mary Pacetti at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Almond was employed by Northwestern Railroad for 28 years, retiring in 1980. In the 1930's, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mary Barr of Kenosha; three sons, Gerald DeCelle (Jeanne) of Burlington, WI, Ronald Keith (Kathleen) Barr of Glendora, CA, and Thomas Duane (Barbara) Barr of Kenosha; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Velton, Garvis and Bruce Barr; and two sisters, Leonide Murray and Zepherine Lupi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 1st, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
