Carl J. Steinke, 77, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2007, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Lincoln, WI, on November 9, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Lydia (Bartz) Steinke. He was educated in the schools of Eau Claire, WI, moving to Kenosha from Beloit, WI, in 1957, to make his home. He was in the United States Army from August 20, 1951, until his honorable discharge on May 19, 1953. He had been employed by American Motors/Chrysler as a technician until his retirement. He was a member of UAW Local 72 Retirees and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Kevin) Edwards of Kenosha and Cynthia (Scott) Ginn of Houston, TX; a son, Gregory (Kelli) Steinke of Clearwater, FL; a brother, John (Noreen) Steinke of Milwaukee; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Lois Grange. At Carl's request, there will be no services. Private interment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
