Joyce E. Whitrock, 79, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, November 13th, 2006, at her home. Born June 7, 1927, in Kingsford, MI, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Gladys N. (Johnson) Matton. She was educated in the schools of Racine, graduated from the St. Luke's School of Nursing, and came to Kenosha in 1948. On July 24, 1948, she married James C. Rieschl in Zion, IL. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1961. She then married Earl Whitrock on June 16, 1962, in Somers, WI. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2004. She worked as a registered nurse at Southern Colony, Washington Manor and at St. Catherine's Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 1988. Joyce enjoyed traveling, sewing, crocheting, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include eleven children, Linda (Robert) Nass of Kentucky, James Whitrock of Kenosha, Sheryl Peters of Arizona, Beverly Rieschl of Kenosha, Gary (Patty) Whitrock of Kenosha, Jean Sandberg of Mondovi, WI, Joyce Rieschl of New Mexico, Kathy (Tom) Smith of Kenosha, LuAnn Rieschl of Kenosha, Julie (Terry) Johnson of Kentucky, and David (Bonnie) Whitrock of Friendship, WI; a sister, Ione (Gene) Hyde of Racine; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Whitrock and James Rieschl; two daughters, Mary Lou Allen and Susan Woynilko; two brothers, Vic Londre and Bill Matton; a granddaughter, Connie Gandia; and her step father, Victor Londre. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
