To the Dave Laughlin Family...It was with great regret to learn of Dave's passing.I worked with Dave at Chrysler...he was a great co-worker and just a really nice friend. He could pick you up when you were feeling down, and it was a pleasure to have known him. My deepest sympathy. Sincerely, Anne Wisniewski

I never thought that two years ago when I came up to Milwaukee to work, that I would meet a person that would have had such an impact on me. I am not sure what it was about Dave that I liked, but a person could not help to like him. He worked very hard and was a believer in a fair days pay deserved a fair days work. After I started in September of 2004, I would encounter his "nice" disposition. Hollering about where I placed my basket or for being parked in the drop off lanes too long. You could never win. So I started having fun with it, and of course Dave knew this. After I went onto the drivers backup list and was a "backup" driver full time in October 2004, Dave and I started talking a lot more. Going out for smokes and started what would be a great relationship. I drove solid for a year and we never missed a beat. Having a blast EVERYDAY. I actually looked forward to going to work, but it wasn't the work that I enjoyed. It was my partner I had to look forward to. We eventually became very close. Dave started talking about retiring and of course, I told him he needed to enjoy life and get out of there. We knew that around November 2005, that I would be going back to picking and would not see each other a lot and exchange "words of encouragement" HA. So I had a chance to go into QC because I knew he would be retiring after the first of the year. So he gave me a lot of grief between Nov. and Feb.. But when he came through the last day to shake hands, he never looked happier, but I think he still wished I could have stayed on as a full time driver. He actually said he would not have retired that soon if I had stayed in Jeep. I am going to miss Dave because we can never have our talks or text messages. I will miss you my friend and remember you always. You had an impact on my life that I will never forget. Goodbye my friend, I will see you again someday.

I met Carl once at my son's (Randy's) house & he seemed to be a very likable guy. I know Randy sure thought a lot of Carl especially with all the good natured teasing that they did to each other at work, text messaging on cell phones & such throughout Carl's brief retirement. I know Carl even "bugged" him when he came back to Indiana for a visit home. Ha! Ha! He sure brought out the best in Randy! They were the best of friends!

I worked with Dave many years in Milwaukee. I always enjoyed talking to him even after I went on 2nd shift. He was a great guy. I retired 3 years ago and had only seen Dave once since and it was right after he retired. Dave will truly be missed by all.
