Richard James LUNDGREN
Richard J. Lundgren, 68, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, July 25th, 2006, at United Hospital System. Born in St. Paul, MN, on April 5, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Thomas) Lundgren. He moved to Hurley as a young child, receiving his education in the schools of Hurley, coming to Kenosha after his military service. He was in the United States Army Air Force from October 25, 1956, until his honorable discharge on January 21, 1958. He was a firefighter with the #313 Air Division serving in the Pacific. He married Sharron Watring in Kenosha in 1961, and had two children, Brenda and Richie. Richard and Sharron later divorced in 1988. He later married Nancy LaPoint in 1991, in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death in 2001. He had been employed by The Sheet Metal Workers Union for 30 years, retiring in 2001. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church and Sheet Metal Workers Union, Richard enjoyed coaching CYC Basketball and Football. Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (Steven) Christman of Kenosha; seven sisters, Kathryn Mieloszyk, Marilyn Gribble, Karen (William) Sargent, Judith (Luther) Davis, Janice (Sylvester) Florian, Joanne (Robert) Bruneau, and Margaret (Joseph) Innis; four brothers, Raymond (Shirley) Lundgren, Russell (Faye) Lundgren, William (Janice) Lundgren and Thomas Lundgren; and two grandchildren, Michael and Sean Christman. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Todd in 1986; and a brother, Ronald Lundgren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28th, from Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Mass to be celebrated at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery with full military honors.
