Harold Marcus WHITWORTH
Harold M. Whitworth, 88, of Bradenton, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 12th, 2006, at Dolphin House in Waterford, WI. Born in Sorento, IL, on January 20, 1918, he was the son of the late Grover and Thanie (McGibany) Whitworth. He resided in Florida for over 30 years, returning to Wisconsin in November of 2005. He was in the United States Navy during World War II. He entered the service on July 28, 1944, and was honorably discharged in July of 1945. He received the World War II Victory Ribbon. In 1939, in Kenosha, he married Eleanor Wennman. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1974. He than married Oneta Clark in Kenosha in 1979. She preceded him in death in September of 1992. Harold was an insurance investigator for Equifax for over 28 years, retiring in 1977. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge #47 F & AM. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ballroom and square dancing. He loved to go to his cabin in Ontario, Canada, and winter in Florida. Surviving are his sons, Mark (Bonnie) Whitworth of Burlington, and Gregg (Patti) Whitworth of Racine; four grandchildren, Jared, Jacob, Jennifer and Christopher Whitworth; and also a good friend, Ann Franz of Florida. He was preceded in death by two sons, Brent in 1951 and Gary in 1962. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. It may be hard to realize right now, but it probably is a blessing that dad didn't have to suffer a long time with Alzheimer's.
