Gustave E. "Gus" Zimany, 80, of Kenosha, passed away Sunday, July 9th, 2006, at St. Catherine's Medical Center. Born in Kenosha on April 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Gustave and Irene (Sikora) Zimany. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, educated in local schools. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Extension College. He entered the United States Army Air Force during World War II on July 24, 1944, and was honorably discharged on June 28, 1946. He received the American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. On June 30, 1951, at Grace Lutheran Church, he married Shirley Mills. Gus was a Supervisor at American Motors, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a Ham Radio Operator and a member of the Astronomy Club. Gus was an excellent furniture maker. He is survived by his wife, Shirley at home; four children, Kevin (Patricia) of Kenosha, Grant (Donna) of Burlington, WI, Valerie (Mark) Ebert of Kenosha and Sarah Jane Zimany at home; a sister, Helen Usinger of Kenosha; nine grandchildren, Vanessa, Ethan, Samantha, Tiffany, Brittany, Courtney, Emily, Neil and Troy; and one great-granddaughter, Katrizina. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13th, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Interment following at Green Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Proko Funeral Home from 11:00 am until the time of services.
