Charlotte M. Cyzak, 86, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, June 13th, 2006, at St. Catherine's Medical Center. Born in Kenosha on January 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Rose (Schaefer) Cyzak. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, educated in local schools. After serving as a nurse in the Army, she attended Marquette University, where she received her Masters Degree. She was in the United States Army from March 5, 1942, until her honorable discharge on December 22, 1945. A nurse on the Hospital Ship Maetsuycker in the South Pacific during WWII, she served in New Guinea and Southern Philippines. She received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars and the Philippine Liberation ribbon with four overseas service bars. Charlotte taught Nursing in Milwaukee. She then was a Science Teacher at Kenosha High School and later was employed at St. Mary's Medical Center in Racine until her retirement in 1985. Charlotte was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Surviving are two sisters, Blanche Arlausky of Superior, WI, and Isabelle Trejnowski of Kenosha; a nephew, John (Clare) Cyzak of Kenosha; a great-nephew, Michael (Colleen) Cyzak of Kenosha; a great-niece, Susan (Rick) Gulbransen of Appleton, WI; and four great-great-nephews, Michael, David, John and Daniel. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Thad Cyzak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 16th, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
