Christina Virginia CARDINALI
Christina Virginia Cardinali, 87, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, June 6th, 2006, at St. Catherine's Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born October 11, 1918, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of Stanley and Tekla (Markunas) Juska. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she attended local schools. On November 25, 1936, she married Dante J. Cardinali. He died October 13, 1994. Besides being a full time homemaker, she assisted Dante running Cardinali's Grocery Store from 1942-1952. She was also employed by Lakeway Grocery Store, Buckson Screw Machine Products and Gales Beauty Shop until she retired. For the past six years, she was a resident of Brookside Care Center. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved her Red Hat society functions that Brookside provided for their residents. She also participated in their Bingo, other games and trips. She learned to use the computer while there. An avid gardener, growing plants was always her passion. Even though not in the best of health, she always concerned herself of others and her family. Anyone who knew her will always remember her as a gentle caring individual. She is survived by three sons, Dante (Lou Ann) Cardinali, Jr., Donald (Nancy) Cardinali and Douglas Cardinali, all of Kenosha; two daughters, Veronica (Ronald) Wurtz of Anchorage, AK, and Janice Cardinali of Pleasant Prairie; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Stanley and Peter Juska; and two sisters, Genevieve Hertlein and Theresa M. Molinaro. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery.
