Esther Griese, 91, of Kenosha, passed away at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie on May 3, 2006. She was born March 30, 1915, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Otto H. and Katherine E. (Schaeffer) Pophal. She was a graduate of Kenosha High School and the Kenosha College of Commerce. On September 12, 1947, in Kenosha, she married Richard E. Griese. He passed away March 4, 1999. She worked at American Motors and later as an accountant at Johns Manville in Waukegan, IL, for 24 years. She also worked at Kenosha Hospital and Dynamatic Corp. She was a lifetime member of Frieden's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frieden's Friendship Club and the Mr. & Mrs. Club. She was a former member of the Business & Professional Women's Club of Kenosha and the Kenosha Historical Society. She is survived by her cousins, Sue Kreger, Judy Steagall, Joyce Placzkowski, Larry Zoller, and Peter Ploskee, Sr., all of Kenosha and Clifford Schaeffer of Sturtevant. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6th, at Frieden's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
