James "Jimmy G." Gonzalez, Sr., 70, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, April 28th, 2006, at his residence. Born on November 27, 1935, in Texas, he was the son of the late Robert and Petra (Hernandez) Gonzalez. He moved from Texas to Waukegan, IL, in 1943, and then moved from Waukegan to Kenosha in 1983 to make his home. He was a graduate of Waukegan High School in 1956. He married Roberta Garcia in Waukegan, IL, in 1960. They later divorced in 1968. He then married Diane S. Miller in Kenosha on June 11, 2005. He was enlisted with the U.S. Marines on July 10, 1956, and was honorably discharged on July 9, 1958. He was employed as a polisher with Outboard Marine Corporation from 1978 until his retirement in 1999. He was an avid pool player and was an Illinois fan in sports, and supported the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. He is survived by his wife, Diane S. Gonzalez, of Kenosha; five children, James (Lisa Stein) Gonzalez, Jr. of Kenosha, Donna (Confesor Rivera) Gonzalez of Kenosha, Brenda (Marcos) Christodonte of Virginia, Ruben Gonzalez of Portland, OR, and Manolito Gonzalez of Waukegan, IL; a sister, Carmen Gonzalez of Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeane Gonzalez, and sister, Eleanor Hernandez. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5th, 2006, at the Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment to be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Proko Funeral Home.
