Born to eternal life at the age of 91. Moved from Milwaukee to Kenosha with her mother, Rose Rittinger, in 1919 after her father died. Had one son, Robert Koch, with her first husband. Met her second husband, John Mertz, at the Eagles Ballroom, and they were married for over 49 years, having one son, Jack. Lucille loved to dance, six nights per week in her youth. Enjoyed baseball, especially the Pirates, then the White Sox, Braves, and Brewers. Also liked Packer and Badger football. Lucille and John enjoyed bowling, gardening, vacation trips, and late night old movies. Lucille liked picnics and other family gatherings, steak, and roses. In her later years, she treasured the visits of family and friends and the many cards and letters she received. Lucille is survived by son Jack (Jennifer); by grandchildren Robert Koch, Nancy Glaman (Bob), Bill Koch (Chris) Adam Mertz (Amy) Chad Mertz, and Julie Mertz; and by seven great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband John, her son Robert, and a granddaughter, Barbara Koch. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1st, at Bethany Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
