Josephine Zaionc, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, February 20th, 2006, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa, after a brief illness. She was born in Kenosha on August 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Ernest and Lisetta (Frosolono) Gianantonio. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended Bain Elementary School, McKinley Jr. High School, graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and attended Gateway Technical College. On September 1, 1951, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, she married George Zaionc. She had been employed at St. Catherine's Hospital and Ben Franklin Variety Store. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and Mt. Carmel Ladies Society. Josephine enjoyed gardening, classical music, playing piano, cooking, sewing, watching old movies, musicals and she enjoyed pets. Surviving are her husband of Kenosha; a son, William Ernest (Sheryl) Zaionc of Kenosha; a daughter, Debra Joy Zaionc of Kenosha; a sister, Elvera Gianantonio of Kenosha; and two brothers, Fred and Eugene Gianantonio, both of Kenosha. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Freeman and Rose Lencioni; and two brothers, Antonio and Henry Gianantonio. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. James Cemetery.
