Ellen Cox, 81, of Lansing, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 1st, 2006, at Dyer Rehabilitation Center in Dyer, IN. Born on September 9, 1924, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Adele (Mourane) Fortino. She married Charles R. Cox in Bristol, VA. He passed away November 5, 2005. She was formerly employed by Simmons Mfg. in Munster, IN, and Dairyland Race Track in Kenosha. She is survived by a son, David (Lynne) Cox of Lansing, IL; three granddaughters, Aimee (Jose) Martinez, Angela (John) O'Boyle, and Amanda Cox; one great-grandchild, Ceili M. O'Boyle; a brother, George Fortino of Kenosha; a sister, Esther Lenfesty of Kenosha; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve Fortino. She is also survived by nieces and nephews in Kenosha and Bristol, VA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 3rd, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass at Mt. Carmel Church.
