Carmella CERMINARA
Carmella Cerminara, 100, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, January 27th, 2006, at Grand Prairie Health and Rehab Center. Born July 16, 1905, in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Adeline (Morone) Fortino. She came to America when she was six years old and lived for a short time in Chicago. She moved to Kenosha when 22nd Avenue was brick and most other streets were dirt. Carmella's first husband, Angelo Pagliaro, fought in World War I and they resided in New York before he preceded her in death, leaving her widowed with three children. She remarried to Napoleon Dominick Cerminara on August 7, 1930, in Waukegan, IL, and they lived in San Jose, CA, for a time, and then moved to Italy for six months before returning to Kenosha. Napoleon preceded her in death on June 3, 1992. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Italian American Ladies Society. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, and arts and crafts. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Pagliaro, Gregory (Helma) Cerminara, and Ralph (Lori) Cerminara, all of Kenosha; five daughters, Julia Lucas of Kenosha, Virginia Pillizzi of Kenosha, Catherine "Kitty" Lusebrink of Whiting, IN, Gloria Dimeo of Kenosha, and Esther Hoffman of St. Petersburg, FL; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
