Isabel FORTINO
Isabel Fortino, 86, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, January 20th, 2006, at St. Catherine's Hospital. Born in Rome, Italy, on December 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosina (LaBadessa) DeCristofaro. She came to Kenosha from Italy in 1921. She attended Columbus Grade School, McKinley Jr. High School and was a graduate of Kenosha High School. On February 1, 1947, she married George Fortino in Kenosha. She had been employed by Full Fashion Hosiery and Samuel Lowes Book Binding. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and The Italian American Ladies Auxiliary. Isabel was an awesome cook; her specialty was her tomato sauce. She enjoyed watching soap operas, crossword puzzles and reading. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, George; two daughters, Georgette Pfeiffer of Kenosha and Diana (Lawrence) Mallek of Arizona; a son, Frank (Cherise) Fortino of Utah; four grandchildren, Carrie Ann (Ken) Seiberlich, and David, Anthony and Eric Fortino; and her two great-grandchildren, Lauren J. and Melissa K. Seiberlich. She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Pellegrino. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23rd, at 9:30 am from Proko Funeral Home. Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. I wanted to take a moment to send you some words of comfort.I am a bible student, and have learned much about the subject of death. The bible teaches that death is an enemy, not something that God uses to bring individuals to himself in heaven. At 1 Corinthians 15:26 it says:
