Regina Rose Zimmermann, 95, of Kenosha, passed away Wednesday, December 21st, 2005, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in Kenosha on August 18, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Julia (Sawicki) Papoll. In 1969 she retired to Coral Gables, FL, and Bradenton, FL, and later to Missouri to live with her daughter. She returned to Kenosha in December of 2000 to make her home. On September 5, 1931, she married John Zimmermann, Jr. in Crown Point, IN. He passed away January 31, 1986. She was formerly employed by Coopers. From 1936 to 1941 she and her husband operated Zimmermann's Edgewater Beach Hotel in Twin Lakes and in 1941 they built the Zimmermann's Motel in Twin Lakes, which they owned and operated until 1969. She was an avid bingo player and loved to cook and shop. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Jayne Baker of Kenosha; a sister, Clara Papoll of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Kelly Morgan of Los Angeles, CA, Kerry (Victor) Schmidt of Gainesville, FL, and Michael Morgan of Bartlett, IL; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Schmidt; a nephew, Jim Zimmermann of Kansasville; and two nieces, Julie Harbert of Kenosha and Jacqueline Bowers of McAllen, TX. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen (Mrs. Louis) Harbert and Anne (Mrs. Peter) Streit. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 24th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Interment to be private at Green Ridge Cemetery.
