Robert Burr WHITBECK
Robert B. Whitbeck, 87, of Kenosha, passed away Tuesday, December 20th, 2005, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on August 2, 1918, he was the son of the late Burr O. and Anna (Koehn) Whitbeck. He was a resident of Kenosha, but resided in Iowa for a short time. He was educated in local schools. He was in the United States Navy. He entered the service on May 18, 1944, and was honorably discharged December 23, 1945. On July 31, 1938, in Kenosha, he married Alice Madsen. She passed away July 26, 1997. He had been employed by Ace Hardware as general manager for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Elk's Club and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golfing and liked most sports. He was a Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are two sons, Gerald (Jill) Whitbeck and James (Peggy) Whitbeck, both of Kenosha; a daughter, Judy (Wayne) Anderson of Sacramento, CA; six grandchildren, Denise (Keith) Baley, Corey Whitbeck, Kristen Whitbeck, Bobbi (Tim) Brau, Jodie Williams and Mark (Sabrina) Anderson; and five great-grandchildren, Dante Whitbeck, Morgan Baley, Max Williams, Jill Williams and Brandon Brau. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert (Robbie) Anderson in 1984; and a granddaughter, Penny Whitbeck in 1980. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23rd, at Proko Funeral Home at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the time of services.
