Henry "Pros" Heynssens, a WWII Army veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, passed away at home on Monday, December 12th, 2005, at the age of 89 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Pros was born on December 2, 1916, in Flint, MI, but raised his family in Chicago where he worked for Sinko, Poly Mold Plastics and Ethyl Corporation, before moving to Kenosha in 1991. He leaves behind a beloved wife, Helen (nee: Ott) of over 59 years; six proud children, Chris (Rene), Mark (Donna), Linda (Kenny) Wright, Steve (Rose) Greg (Jeanette), and Carol (Sam) Soteros; seven loving grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Mallory, Ashley, Tyler, Christina and William; seven siblings; and many nieces nephews and friends. Pros was loved and admired by all of those who knew him and he cared for the needs of others before his own. Everyone who knew Pros was touched by the kindness and the energy of his spirit. He loved to hunt and fish and spent every summer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. His passion for fixing and tinkering with things earned him the nickname "Wheelikens" early in life. His favorite pastime, however, was playing cards with his wife, Helen and granddaughter, Mallory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Emma, and three sisters, Alice, Emma and Margaret. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 15th, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400-39th Avenue, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or St. Mary Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533www.prokofuneralhome.com
