Robert F. RESCHKE, SR.

1945 ∼ 2005

Robert F. Reschke, Sr., 60, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, December 5th, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital and Medical Center in Milwaukee. Born in Detroit, MI, on May 13, 1945, he was the son of the late Earl C. and Marian (Bobcanik) Reschke. He came to Kenosha as a young boy and attended local schools, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1963. He then attended Gateway Technical College, where he received a degree in Police Science. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On February 12, 1967, in Barstow, CA, he married Delta "Kandy" Johnson. In 1969, he joined the Kenosha Police Department, retiring on May 1, 2002, as Captain. He also worked for 30 years in security at Piggly Wiggly. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, The Danish Brotherhood, Police Supervisors Association and a former member of KPPA. Bob loved his sports, and enjoyed going to Green Pay Packer Games. He was very involved in the Kenosha softball community. He managed and played on several championship teams including, The Kenosha Police Softball Team, Gerolmos, and Stanich Realty. He is survived by his wife, Delta "Kandy" of Kenosha; three sons, Robert, Jr., Joseph and Thomas Reschke, all of Kenosha; his step-father, Allan Lehto of Kenosha; a grandson, Bryan of Kenosha; a sister, Joyce M. (James) Roberts of Garden City, MI; his devoted longtime friend and best buddy, Detective Kenneth Kopesky; several beloved nieces and nephews; and his little Dachshund, "Shorty". He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel; and three sisters, Glorianne Bernhardt, Carol A. Moore and Valerie J. Sadowski. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9th, at 10:30 am at Proko Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Proko Funeral Home.
