Eugene T. Barnes, 78, of Kenosha, passed away Monday, November 28th, 2005, at his residence. Born July 27, 1927, in Ironwood, MI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Stella (Belaney) Barnes. He was educated in the schools of Ironwood, coming to Kenosha in 1959 to make his home. On June 18, 1955, he married Agnes C. Segalin. She passed away February 10, 2003. Eugene was in the United States Navy during World War II, from June 14, 1945, until his honorable discharge August 22, 1946. He received the World War II Victory Ribbon. He was employed as a lineman for Chrysler Motors, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of Mt. Carmel, Knights of Columbus, 4th degree Arch Bishop Messmer Assembly, 4th degree Honor Guard, 3rd degree Council #973, Faithful Comptroller of the 4th degree, UAW Local #72 Retirees, Yooper Fest Committee, Copper Peak Society of Ironwood, MI, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Surviving are three children, Gary T. (Debbie) Barnes, Kathleen Marie (William) Kappers and Kristine Jean Barnes, all of Kenosha; and five grandchildren, Tom, Karyn, Katie, Tommi and Karlie. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2nd, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Proko Funeral Home.
