Raymond J. Grabowski, 84, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, October 17th, 2005, at his home. Born May 17, 1921, in Peshtigo, WI, he was the son of the late Hans and Helen (Baran) Grabowski. He resided in Chicago before moving to New Port Richie, FL, and came to Kenosha in 2000. He served in the U.S. Navy, entering on September 21, 1943, and was honorably discharged on December 12, 1945. He crossed the Rhine River on March 23, 1945 and received the Service Recognition Medal and a Letter of Commendation. On May 19, 1946, he married Helen B. Lelito in Chicago. He was employed as a foreman in the plating department with the Chicago Faucet Co. for 46 years. While in Chicago, he was an active member of St. Constance Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Chicago Faucet Co. baseball team, enjoyed golfing, general yard work, was an avid walker, and a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his wife, Helen of Kenosha; a daughter, Carol (Clarke) Grabowski-Davis of Pleasant Prairie; two sisters, Florence Zientko of Chicago and Helen Newbury of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Jim; and two sisters, Mary Hipke and Rita Wodzien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 21st, at St. Therese Catholic Church at 11:00 am with military honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass.
