Robert L. Norris, 78, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Aurora Medical Center. Born July 21, 1927, in Loogootee, Ind., he was the son of the late Lewis A. and Mary E. (Wade) Norris. He was educated in the schools of Indiana, coming to Kenosha in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army, entering in 1945, and was honorably discharged in 1947, serving in the Pacific Theatre. On July 31, 1948, he married Evelyn M. Kaiser in Kenosha. He worked at Simmons Co. and later American Motors, retiring on July 1, 1988. Robert was a member of the UAW Local 72 Retirees, was an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Kenosha; a son, Robert L. Norris, Jr. of Lakeland, Fla.; four daughters, Barbara (Peter) Sacco of Gilbert, Ariz., Linda Petersen of Kenosha, Janice (Anthony) Bowers of Kansas City, Kans., and Sherri (Michael) Kiffel of Oregon, Wis.; a sister, Mary Ruth (Victor) Meier of Kenosha; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Virgil, Hugh, James, Joseph, and George; and three sisters, Anna Norris, Rosemary Norris, and Bonnie Guy. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Proko Funeral Home from 4 pm until 7 pm. Interment to be private.
