Beatrice A. HEIKKINEN
Beatrice A. Heikkinen, 78, of Kenosha, passed away, Tuesday, September 27th, 2005, at St. Catherine's Medical Center. Born in Cosmos, MN, on October 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Martha (Ellies) Gutzke. She attended Pontiac Central High School. She moved from Pontiac, MI, in 1963 to Palatine, IL, until 1983. She then moved to Ramsay, MI, and wintered in Winter Haven, FL, until moving to Kenosha in December of 1993. On June 24, 1950, in Pontiac, MI, she married Edwin A. Heikkinen. She had worked as a secretary for Pontiac Central High School prior to her marriage. She was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, FL, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Pontiac, MI. She enjoyed shopping and was proud of keeping a beautiful home. She was also a volunteer with the schools in Drayton Plaines and Palatine, a Brownie Leader and an attendance secretary at Roselle High School. Surviving are her husband, Edwin A. of Kenosha; a daughter, Mary (Jim) Williams of Pleasant Prairie; four sisters, Vera Dickman of Winter Haven, Fl, and Vernette Mathews, Hazel Condon and Donna Costello, all of Waterford, MI; a grandson, Robert Arthur Williams of Carol Stream, IL; and her dog, "Boots". She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Patricia Heikkinen; a brother, Leland Gutzke; and a sister, Maybelle Koehl. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30th, at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 8411 Old Green Bay Road, at 11 am. Interment will be on Monday, October 3rd, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 am until the time of services at Lamb of God Church.
